Social Media Overdose

So I've finally been sucked into the all-encompassing black hole that is social media. I can see how all these people get so addicted, its like electronic crack. There is all the elements of drug use, you've got your dealers, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You have the junkies, that would be us the common folk. Then there is the supply. The constant need to keep making friends and tweet/post randomness. The tension builds as you wait for somebody to respond to your messages or accept your friend request and then it hits you. The multi-dimensional electronic matrix blowing your mind to oblivion. At first the high lasts a long time you stay up all night clicking this and clicking that, responding faster than bullets fly. Suddenly you start to crash, you feel that long dark depression of withdrawal nagging at your nerves. It gets so bad...you almost start shaking, that is, until..you post, you post something hilarious and the matrix goes flowing through your veins again. Now you start to question yourself maybe you should have taken the other pill, the red one or the blue one, you can't even tell anymore. If it wasn't for the body's necessity to sleep and recuperate you would stay jacked in all night long and soon you slip into slumber mode as the little green numbers start raining down around you. Unless of course you don't sleep. You stay connected, your body becomes...a machine and you spend you're years flying around the interwebs as a sentinel snatching new victims and feeding them, like delicious morsels, to the great machine. More living batteries for the beast.

Tigers of Sadness

So at first I wasn't the least bit interested in the events that took place in Ohio involving the release of all those exotic animals after their owner committed suicide, but after seeing a picture and article in the paper this morning I must admit my heart sank a little bit. Never mind all the common animals; lions, bears, zebra and others, those are in abundance and easily replaced. 18 rare Bengal tigers were included amongst the pile of dead animals, lets emphasize this again, RARE Bengal tigers. I could see shooting all of the other animals because of safety concerns but I feel that it was ignorant of those people to not wait for professionals to help round up, tranquilize and capture these beautiful creatures for posterity's sake. The concern for human safety, in my eyes, does not outweigh the debt owed to the creatures of this planet whose habitats and lives have been ravaged by our blind self absorbed progression. My soul weeps for those tigers and the overall tragedy of this event. The earth is stained with blood shed by human hands, why not a little more right.......

...really?!

So lets get this straight the Israelis' traded 1000 Palestinian prisoners for just one Israeli prisoner and people are all concerned about the fallout of this deal. C'mon you've got to be kidding me. Those 1000 prisoners are like bread crumbs to Israel, thrown out on the lake to draw out the hungry Palestinian ducks, what better way to keep a fire burning then providing more fuel. The Israelis are just bolstering the ranks of its enemy just to generate more animosity, it helps keep them in a state of tension, which in turn gives them an excuse to take whatever actions they deem necessary. Israel and its US backed regime aren't stupid and their actions are more thought out and premeditated then even I can imagine. Its funny and it seems to me that it is just basic warfare strategy. Trying to stay one step ahead of your opponent, learning their tells and using that knowledge to manipulate them into making dangerous mistakes. These are the keys to victory. Now I've seen enough spy movies/shows to know that there are these little things called double agents(not that they've necessarily been turned), how many of those Palestinians released were let go on purpose, most likely without even realizing the role they are actually playing. They'll go running back to there anti-west hating buddies with stories of atrocity and sooner or later you're going to get some Hamas junkies rolling out to attack whatever targets they can. Anybody ever play Duck Hunt on old Nintendo, what happens when the dog flushes out those silly little water foul...BANG! BANG! Another successful hunting trip! Time to collect the trophies...

Tapping the roots

So I've taken up a plan to include a lot more rowing into my workout routine, something about the way the Vikings had to row miles and miles just to get to some random place and then have to get out and go rampaging and then still have the raw determination to row the spoils home is just amazing. So on top of any weight/resistance training I'm going to be adding some Nordic cardio...hehe. There's a lot more to rowing, thanks to modern innovations, but I can almost guarantee the principal of practice/practice/practice still holds true. Of course I don't plan on breaking any records or anything crazy but it's something to aim for at least. I'm planning on including some other Viking warrior activities, wood-choppers...and such. Hopefully before long I'll be feeling and channeling some Norse Gods to bring my fitness to a Valhalla worthy standard.

And so it begins...

It doesn't take much for people to get pulled into manipulated idealism and useless protestations like this whole occupy Wall St. junk. The US government and the wealthy 1% are sitting back laughing as the mindless 99% go chasing that carrot on a stick, with some vain hope that anything will result from their meager struggle. Anyone with a decent head on there shoulders knows the futility of this endeavor and those who are so eager to throw themselves to the wolves, well lets just say they deserve what they get. The mirage of the peaceful endeavor of civil rights movements are exactly what the rich and powerful are banking on. Just another racket to keep your minds off the backhanded, dark alley deals taking place all over the globe. The shuffling of political prowess from one decrepit hand to another, blood money fueling conflict and wars in a bizarre form of reverse engineering. No longer does one(a country) require any direct attack from another entity for a whole storm of repercussions to come rolling out. It is sad that lives are traded and wasted on another humans whims but mankind's enemy has never and will never be a physical manifestation. Your real enemy isn't the corrupt businessman, or warmongering dictator but rather the inevitable frailty of human appeasement, how easily your mind sets itself upon a material gain. Keep reaching...maybe one day you'll get that carrot.
